Obi James is a Finnish-Nigerian Leadership Expert committed to creating inclusive cultures of shared leadership and empowered relationships, where every individual can thrive.

With extensive experience of successfully developing leaders and teams across large multinational organisations including Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, Bank of America and Northern Trust, she left corporate employment in 2012 to set up Obi James Consultancy and has since successfully trained, mentored and coached leaders, partnerships, teams and organisations globally -through periods of uncertainty, change and cultural transformation. Clients have ranged from public to private sector businesses including Barclays, Bloomberg, BlackRock, Visa, Lloyds, Co-Op, Sony Music, FARFETCH, Save the Children and the NHS.

Obi dedicates a lot of time to coaching executives and senior leadership teams. She is a sought-after facilitator and speaker on leadership, women in leadership, anti-racism, allyship and inclusion at international corporate events such as the Global Finance Transformation Summit, Women in Banking & Finance (WIBF) Strategy Day, Bloomberg’s Multicultural and Senior Women’s Forums.

In 2019, she was elected to become a Council Member and Trustee for Royal African Society(RAS), where she works to facilitate its mission of amplifying African voices and interests globally. She is a Judge for the annual Business Book Awards and has judged categories such as the international business, leadership and diversity, inclusion and equity. She is also a judge for the StartUp Awards National Series which recognises the achievements of amazing individuals who have had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service. Obi has won global industry awards for her work on leadership and for her dedication to inclusion.
